Because the locking system pushes against the back pin and away from the front pin, the JB coupler remains tight even as it begins to wear.
Auto Lock
High-strength compression springs are always maintaining pressure on rear lock jaw in the event of hydraulic or mechanical failure.
Internal Check Valve in the Double-Acting Hydraulic Cylinder - Safety Feature
An internal check valve backs up the compression springs, which keep constant pressure in the cylinder. As machine pressure increases, or workload of machine increases the pressure is topped up. As the machine works harder, the tighter the hitch connects to the bucket or attachment.
