The proven four cylinder Deutz turbocharged diesel engine is coupled to a four speed transmission and high-ratio planetary gear box. American Augers' rugged box frame construction with the gearbox bolted to the header wall assures lasting alignment of the power train. The low center line and wide stance create a low machine profile. Machine controls are clustered for easy operation. The 36/42-440G2 has an electric starter and an emergency switch for total machine shutdown.
